[edit] Biographical information
After playing college baseball, John Barlowe was a coach at Hibriten High School. Moving to the college ranks, he was an assistant baseball coach at Georgia Southern University (1990-1991) and Vanderbilt University (1995- ) and head coach at Truett-McConnell College (1992-1994). He then moved on the independent league baseball as hitting coach of the Shreveport Sports of the Central League in 2003 and replaced Terry Bevington as the club's manager in 2004. In 2005, he joined Bevington's staff again as hitting coach of the Edmonton Cracker-Cats of the Northern League, and the following year he succeeded Bevington as skipper once again. Since 2008, he has been head coach at Lambuth University.
