John Easton was at Princeton University from 1953-55, and signed with the Philadelphia Phillies on June 14, 1955. Five days later, on June 19, 1955, he made his major league debut. He later came back in 1959 for 3 more games.
Easton was born in New Jersey and was a star at Trenton Central High School. At Princeton, he was captain of the baseball team when he was a senior, and also played basketball. He majored in electrical engineering.
He served in the Navy and after baseball worked for Public Service Electric and Gas Company.
He died in Princeton, NJ.
