[edit] Biographical Information

Joe Wood attended Rice University in 1939. Breaking into the majors at wartime, he played 60 games on the Detroit Tigers in 1943, doing quite well for a rookie. He hit .323 with 4 triples, although his range factors at 2nd base and 3rd base were low. He was released in 1946.
