Joe Visner was a pretty good slugger for a couple years in the majors.
He broke into the majors with the 1885 Orioles, who were in the American Association, appearing in four games with them.
Four years later he shared catching duties and was the fourth outfielder on the 1889 Brooklyn Bridegrooms, who won the pennant with a record of 93-44. Visner had easily the highest slugging percentage on the team, .447. Although appearing in only 80 games, he tied for the team lead in home runs and was third in triples.
He moved to the Players League in 1890, co-leading the league in triples with 22. He played exclusively right field.
The following year he was back in the American Association, and while he hit well with a .441 slugging percentage for the 1891 Washington Senators, he ended up with the 1891 St. Louis Browns where he hit .148.
In 1893 he had 100 RBI for Albany in the International League. In 1894 he played in the Western League, hitting .382.
