[edit] Biographical Information
Joe Urso has been the head baseball coach at the University of Tampa since 2001. In his first year at the helm, the team won a school-record 49 games.
A second baseman, Urso played baseball at UT, graduating in 1992. He was selected by the California Angels in the 49th round of the 1992 amateur draft and played in their organization for four years. After his playing career ended, he was a coach in their farm system and managed the Butte Copper Kings in 1999 and 2000.
