Pitcher Joe Smith was selected by the New York Mets in the 3rd round (94th overall pick) of the 2006 amateur draft. He was the first player to make his Major League debut during the 2007 season when he was used as a reliever on Opening Day by the Mets on April 1, 2007. Through his first 16 2/3 innings of his major league career, Joe had a 0.00 ERA.
