Joseph R. McDermott

Died April 4, 1978 in Granger, IA USA


Catcher Joe McDermott played and managed in the minor leagues. McDermott also owned teams in Norfolk and Grand Island.

McDermott scouted for the St. Louis Cardinals (1941-1945), New York Yankees (1946-1962), New York Mets (1962-1964), and Yankees again (1965-1969). He then scouted for the Major league scouting bureau until retiring in the 70's.
