Joe Klinger was in seven games in the majors in 1927 with the New York Giants and in 1930 for the Chicago White Sox. He appeared in five games in the field, at three positions: catcher, first base and left field. As a hitter he was 5-for-13, for a batting average of .385.
Klinger managed the Tigers' Charleroi Tigers farm team in the Pennsylvania State Association during the first part of the 1936 season.
