Joe Jones begins his 17th year in the Royals organization and his 33rd in professional baseball...began his career with the Royals in 1979 as a manager at Jacksonville...managed Sarasota from 1980-83 before assuming his current duties as Coordinator of Instruction...was the first base coach for Kansas City in 1987...prior to joining the Royals he was a manager in the Chicago White Sox system from 1970-78...played in the minor leagues from 1963-69...was a member of the 1962 National Championship team at the University of Michigan...Joe, 53 years old, resides in Sarasota, FL with his wife, Carole...they have two sons Kenneth and Timothy.
