Joe Decker was a Chicago Cubs farmhand whose only big year came after he was traded to the Minnesota Twins. In 1974, he was 16-14 with a 3.29 ERA. He also pitched briefly with the Seattle Mariners.
In 1989, Decker played for the Gold Coast Suns of the Senior Professional Baseball Association and notched seven saves for the club.
In 1990 he played for the San Bernardino Pride of the Senior Professional Baseball Association and had a record of 2-2 in 10 games when the league ceased operations in December.
- He died in 2003 at age 55 after a fall down stairs.
- One career home run, May 1, 1970, against the Atlanta Braves. The opposing pitcher was Phil Niekro.
