Joe Agler played major league baseball mostly in the Federal League. He was good at drawing walks, with an on-base percentage more than a hundred points higher than his batting average.
An April 17, 1914 article in the New York Times says that Agler jumped to the Federal League from Jersey City before playing a game with them in 1914. A variety of clubs planned to sue various players and Federal League teams as a result of players jumping.
He managed at Canton in 1928.
