Jocko Collins played four years in the minors from 1936 to 1939. He then turned to scouting and scouted for the Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles (?-1974), and New York Mets (1975-1980) from 1940 to 1989, scouting such players as Jack Crimian, Del Ennis, Don Hasenmayer, Lefty Hoerst, Andy Lapihuska, Granny Hamner, Barney Schultz, Tom Lasorda, Jack Meyer, Tom Qualters, John Easton, Dallas Green, Al Kenders, Ed Keegan, Chris Short, Lee Elia, Al Neiger, Dick Allen, Dave May, John Briggs, Mike Jackson, Joe Lis, Bob Bailor, Bob Galasso and Larry Milbourne.
