Nicknamed "Bubblegum", outfielder Jo Lenard played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League for a decade. With the Rockford Peaches in 1944, she hit .211, stole 68 bases, and led the league with 10 triples. With the Muskegon Lassies, she was an All-Star in 1947. In 1,000 games in the AAGPBL, she hit .221.

Later in life, Lenard was a physical education teacher in Chicago. In 1968, she was assaulted and hit in the head, suffering eye damage that left her nearly blind.
