[edit] Biographical Information

Jim Stump pitched quite well in his two stints in the major leagues. With the 1957 Tigers, he had a 2.03 ERA in six appearances, while with the 1959 Tigers he had a 2.38 ERA in five appearances. The league ERA in both years was not too far from 4.00, so Jim was excellent.

Stump was the same age as teammate Jim Bunning, who had a 2.69 ERA in 1957 and a 3.89 ERA in 1959.
