Jim Rutherford was at Cornell University from 1907-10 and came to the majors in July 1910 for one game. He went 1-for-2 for a .500 batting average.
He was also at Portland that year.
The only other major leaguer through 2008 with the last name Rutherford is Johnny Rutherford.
The Cornell Alumni News from October 1921 mentions that a Jim Rutherford, '10, a member of the board of directors and athletic director, had left for a new opportunity in Cleveland.
