Pittsley was the first high school pitcher selected in the 1992 draft. After only three seasons in the minors, Jim was promoted at the age of 21 to the major leagues. Questions about whether he was rushed into the big leagues were answered when four years later Jim left the majors with a career 6.02 ERA.
