Father of Jeff McKnight
Jim McKnight had one career extra base hit, a pinch hit triple off Bobby Shantz on April 10, 1962. McKnight scored on a sacrifice fly by Lou Brock. The Cubs lost the game to the Colt .45's, 11-2.
McKnight's major league career consisted of 91 at-bats, but his professional career lasted from 1955 to 1972. He spent almost all of 1960-1971 at the AAA level, then managed the Decatur Commodores in 1972 and made some token playing appearances that year.
