[edit] Biographical Information

Jim Field played most of his major league career in the American Association from 1883-85, but also played 52 games in 1890 (a year of three leagues) and a final 5 games in the National League in 1898 at the age of 35.

He was primarily a first baseman but pitched a couple games in 1890. Although he had a lifetime .230 batting average, his Adjusted OPS was higher than average in three of his five seasons.
