[edit] Biographical Information

Jim Donnelly has long been confused with James Henry Donnelly, who played briefly for the Kansas City Cowboys of the Union Association in 1884. The two are in fact discrete players. Jim Donnelly also began his career in 1884, but played until 1898, while the other James Donnelly returned to his hometown of Boston after his brief stint in the Union Association.
