Catcher Jim Campanis is the son of big leaguer Jim Campanis and grandson of big league player and executive Al Campanis.
He was on the USA junior team in 1985. Campanis tied a school record with 92 RBI in 1988 and played on Team USA in 1988 but was not on their roster for either the 1988 Olympics or 1988 Baseball World Cup. He hit 23 home runs at USC, which was second to Mark McGwire through 1988. He was signed as the 3rd round pick in the 1988 amateur draft by the Seattle Mariners and scout Ken Houp, but never made the majors.
