Jim Bronstad , a big righthander out of the University of Texas, made it to the big leagues for 16 games with the New York Yankees in 1959. He made it back to the AL in 1963 and 1964 for stints as a reliever for the Washington Senators, finishing 1-7 in 45 big league encounters overall.
Bronstad spent 10 years in pro baseball from 1955 through 1964, mostly in the high minors after 1958. His best season came with the Binghamton Triplets of the Eastern League in 1957 when he went 15-8 with a 3.38 ERA.
Jim's minor league record showed he appeared in 272 games, winning 86 games and losing 95 with a career 3.74 ERA. He was a resident of Ft. Worth, TX, where he was in the cement construction business after baseball.
