Jim Baumer made his MLB debut in 1949 and then disappeared from the Big Leagues for the entire decade of the '50s before resurfacing in 1961.
Baumer was the Scouting Director of the Milwaukee Brewers in 1973-1974 and the General Manager from 1974 to 1977. He was the scouting director of the Philadelphia Phillies in 1981-1983 and director of player personnel from 1984 to 1988.
