Jim Castiglia was at Georgetown University in 1937-41 and came up to the 1942 Philadelphia Athletics, where he hit .389 in 16 games and appeared a few times in the field as a catcher. One source says Bill James once picked Castiglia as one of the ugliest players in the 1940s. See list
He was a running back on the college football team and eventually played for several NFL teams, including the Eagles, Redskins, and Colts.
