Jiggs Parrott and his brother Tom Parrott were the first two Oregon-born players to come to the major leagues.
Jiggs was a weak-hitting infielder who seemed to be able to field, at least in the first couple years. He was 20 years younger than fellow infielder (and manager) Cap Anson.
He is the first of three players remembered with the first name "Jiggs".
