Jesse Altenburg was in the majors with the 1916 Pirates and 1917 Pirates. His teammates included the elderly Honus Wagner and the young Burleigh Grimes.
A SABR publication (The Inside Game, Vol. 7, # 2) indicates Altenburg also played for Kansas City in 1917 and is buried in North Star, MI.
