Jerry Lane pitched 13 years 1947 to 1959, five in college, three in the Major Leagues and 12 in the minors. He served as a coxswain Jerry Lane in the U.S. Navy during World War II (BN). He was signed by the Boston Braves as an amateur free agent in 1948. He pitched in 31 games between 1953 and 1955 for the Washington Senators and Cincinnati Reds. He pitched professionally for teams in three countries (U.S., Canada & Cuba). Lane played for the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern Association, and was inducted into the Chattanooga oldtimer's Hall of Fame. He lived in Chattanooga for 35 years. He died at age 62 and is buried at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN.
