[edit] Biographical Information
Jerry Dybzinksi was the classic backup shortstop, with a 6 year career in major league baseball. He reached his peak in 1983 when he was more or less a regular on the division-winning Chicago White Sox.
He also filled in at second base and at third base.
Although only a 15th round draft pick, he only played three seasons in the minors before coming up to the majors. He hit .219 at Batavia, .283 with 12 home runs at Waterloo, and .254 at Tacoma.
All of his 3 career home runs came with the bases empty and his team behind.
