[edit] Biographical Information

Jerry Dybzinksi was the classic backup shortstop, with a 6-year career in major league baseball. He reached his peak in 1983 when he was more or less a regular on the division-winning Chicago White Sox.

He also filled in at second base and at third base.

Although only a 15th round draft pick by the Cleveland Indians in 1977, he only played three seasons in the minors before coming up to the majors. He hit .219 with the Batavia Trojans in 1977, .283 with 12 home runs with the Waterloo Indians in 1978, and .254 with the Tacoma Tugs in 1979.

All of his 3 career home runs came with the bases empty and his team behind.
