Jerry Schypinski played 22 games for the 1955 Kansas City Athletics.

He was born in Detroit, MI and attended Catholic Central High School (Detroit). He was at the University of Detroit Mercy between the years 1950-55.

He began in the minors in 1952, hitting .294 split between two teams. An article about the 1952 Cordele team quotes him and remembers that the team hit only one home run all season. The article has a photo of the team.

In 1955 he spent most of the season at Savannah, hitting .287. He came up to the majors on August 31, 1955 to play for manager Lou Boudreau.

In 1956 he played for Columbia and Columbus.

In articles his first name is sometimes spelled Gerry.
