Jermaine Van Buren was a second round pick in 1998, and was a starter in the minors from 1998-2003. In 2004-2006 he became a successful reliever in the minors, getting 22 saves in 2004, 25 in 2005, and 16 in 2006, with low ERA's each year. His win-loss record in the minors so far, from 1998-2006, is 46-36.
He started spring training in 2007 with the Washington Nationals but was sent to the Columbus Clippers.
