On August 4, 2008 against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Kinston position player Jared Head was asked to come in to relieve Jansy Infante, another position player who had just given up five earned runs without getting any hitters out. Head gave up just a hit and a walk with 0 earned runs. Infante now owns the worst possible career ERA a pitcher can have (infinity) while Head has the best possible career ERA (0.00).
