Jennel Hudson began his Organized Baseball career in 2008.

Hudson pitched for the German junior team in the 2007 European Junior Championship, allowing 4 walks and 5 runs in 1 2/3 IP and taking two losses. He made his Bundesliga-1 debut with the Cologne Cardinals, going 1 for 5 and handling 3 chances at second base. He participated in MLB's European Academy. Hudson was signed that year by the Boston Red Sox after being scouted by Craig Shipley and Jon Deeble.

Hudson debuted in the US with the GCL Red Sox on June 20 against the GCL Reds but did not do well, giving up 3 hits, a walk and 3 runs in his one inning of work. He had a hit-or-miss season - in 7 outings, he pitched shutout ball while he allowed exactly 3 runs in each of the other 3 appearances. Overall, he had a 5.40 ERA, allowed 15 hits and 11 walks in 15 innings while fanning 11. His fastball was clocked at 91 mph, and his change-up comes in at around 76 mph.

He played some tee-ball in American when he was little, and heard about baseball in Germany from some friends. He started playing baseball in Cologne at age nine. He then moved to America with his family and played basketball and baseball. Upon his return to Germany at age 13, he started regularly playing baseball.

He now lives in Cologne during the off-season, and in Miami during the baseball season.
