[edit] Biographical Information
Catcher Jeff Smith was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 20th round of the 1995 amateur draft. He caught in the minor leagues for 9 seasons, playing 2/3 of his career games at the AA level, for the Twins (1996-2002), Boston Red Sox (2003) and Texas Rangers (2003-2004).
He coached the GCL Twins in 2005, managed the Beloit Snappers in 2006-2007, the Fort Myers Miracle in 2008 & 2009. Starting in 2010 Smith has managed the New Britain Rock Cats.
