Jeff Rineer pitched one inning for the 1979 Orioles, giving up no runs. The 1979 Orioles won the pennant and went on to take the 1979 World Series to seven games.

Rineer (through 2009) is one of only two major leaguers out of Franklin & Marshall College, with the other one being Don Wert. Rineer was at Franklin and Marshall in 1974-75 and was drafted in the 3rd round in 1975 by the Orioles.

He moved his way up the Orioles minor league organization. In 1976 with Miami he had a record of 8-3 in relief with an ERA of 2.62. He spent 1978-80 with Rochester, and went 9-4 in 1978, primarily as a reliever.
