Jeff Newman was a coach for the 1986 Oakland A's and served as interim manager that year, going 2-8.
Newman was named the 1989 Southern League manager of the year while managing the Huntsville Stars. He also managed the 1988 Modesto A's, the 1990 Huntsville Stars and the 1991 Tacoma Tigers.
Newman's son Ryan Newman was a coach for the 2005 GCL Pirates and the 2006 Williamsport Crosscutters.
