First baseman Jeff Malinoff was selected by the California Angels in the 1974 amateur draft and played parts of three seasons in their organization. Most notably, he hit .234 with 1 home run in 44 games for the Salinas Packers in 1975. Following his playing days, he was a scout for the Seattle Mariners (1977-1987) and Detroit Tigers (1989-?), signing Logan White, Bill Wilkinson, Clint Zavaras, and Harold Reynolds among others.
