Son of Jerry DaVanon, who played eight major league seasons, Jeff DaVanon has also played eight years in the big leagues through 2008. When not in the majors, he was in the minors from 1995-2008.

Jeff has primarily played right field and center field in the majors, mostly for the Angels. In his best year, 2003, he hit .282 with 12 home runs in 330 at-bats.

DaVanon grew up playing ball as a youth with Jose Cruz, Jr., and was at San Diego State University at the same time as Jim Rushford.
