[edit] Biographical Information
Jeff Francis was drafted in the first round, ninth overall pick in the 2002 amateur draft by the Colorado Rockies after playing college ball at the University of British Columbia [1] from 2000-2002. [2] He was signed by scout Greg Hopkins and made his pro debut that summer.
Francis tied the Rockies team record for winning most consecutive decisions with six. The record is shared by Darren Oliver.
The Kansas City Royals signed Francis as a free agent in 2011 in a move that baseball analyst Dave Cameron called the best free agent signing of the year.
