Biographical Information

Jeff Cornell pitched 23 games for the 1984 San Francisco Giants.

Cornell was born in Kansas City, MO and attended the University of Missouri from 1976 to 1978. His time there overlapped with that of Tim Laudner and Ron Mathis.

Jeff was drafted in the 8th round of the 1978 amateur draft by the Kansas City Royals. He was in the Royals' organization through 1981, primarily as a reliever except in 1981. He was with Jacksonville during part of 1978 and all of 1979 to 1981.

Traded to the Giants in February 1982, he spent part or all of each year from 1982 to 1985 with Phoenix, mostly as a reliever. He made his major league debut in June 1984 and appeared in 23 games during June, July and August of that year.

In 1986 he pitched in the Chicago Cubs organization for Iowa.
