Outfielder Jay Haney played in the minor leagues from 1939 to 1956; from 1946-1948, he was in the AA Texas League. In 1949, he hit .366 with 20 homers and 119 RBI in the high-octane West Texas-New Mexico League.
Haney managed in the minors from 1949 to 1956 and also was the GM from 1954 to 1956. As GM, he replaced fired field managers in both 1955 and 1956.
