Biographical Information[edit]

Jason Botts was drafted by the Texas Rangers as a draft-and-follow pick in the 46th round of the 1999 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Tim Fortugno the next year and made his pro debut in 2000.

Botts joined the Nippon Ham Fighters during the 2008 season, replacing Mitch Jones. He hit .254/.327/.423 in 55 games, a vast improvement over Jones.
