1B/OF Jason Perry was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 6th round of the 2002 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Charles Aliano and made his pro debut that summer.
On January 27, 2003, John-Ford Griffin was traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Blue Jays for a player to be named later. The Blue Jays sent Perry on June 23, 2003 to the A's to complete the trade.
Perry was briefly in the Detroit Tigers chain, then on August 14, 2007, he was traded by the Tigers back to the A's for Jack Hannahan.
