OF Jamie Hoffmann made his major league debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2009. On December 10, 2009, he was the first overall selection in the Rule V Draft, taken by the Washington Nationals, who immediately sent him to the New York Yankees to complete an earlier trade that had brought relief pitcher Brian Bruney to the Nationals. However, he failed to make the Yankees' roster in spring training and was returned to the Dodgers. He made it back to the major leagues for two games in 2011.
