[edit] Biographical Information
Jake Eisenhart was signed by the Cincinnati Reds out of Juniata College and appeared in one game for them on June 10, 1944. He pitched to two batters; one walked and the other fouled out. This was also the game in which 15-year-old Joe Nuxhall made his first major league appearance. Eisenhart then went in the Army and when discharged in 1945 was signed by the Buffalo Bisons. He went on to play in minor leagues for the Trenton Spartans, where Walt Alston was his manager. An educator, he taught mathematics and coached basketball, football, and baseball at Bordentown Military Institute (1945-53) and at Pennsbury High School (1953-82). He also was active as an umpire and football official.
