[edit] Brother of All-Star Hank
Jake Blalock is not quite the offensive terror that his brother, Texas Rangers third-baseman Hank Blalock, was in the Minor Leagues. Jake had a .266 batting average, with 7 HR's and 41 RBIs in 376 games in 2006 for the AA Frisco Rough Riders, and slugged .372. Also, he was hit by a pitch while playing for Frisco that year, suffering a broken nose. Once upon a time, he was thought to be a nice prospect by the Philadelphia Phillies.
Blalock was 0 for 3 with two strikeouts in his Italian debut on April 9, 2009. Playing left field and hitting cleanup for Reggio Emilia, he was shut down by Horacio Estrada and a reliever.
