[edit] Biographical Information

" . . . Jackie Warner was the most amazing baseball player I have ever seen. . . In his first year in the minor leagues, Jackie set an all time record for the most home runs ever hit in that league. . . Then (in the majors) . . . Jackie charged back to make the catch (in the outfield), and he crashed into the outfield wall, injuring his right shoulder. He never recovered fully . . ." - from a remembrance from a high school classmate

Jackie Warner slugged .431 in 123 at-bats in the majors in 1966. One can only wonder how he would have fared if he had not been injured.

A brief sensation at the plate early in the 1966 season. He quickly faded, however, and was soon back in the minor leagues.
