The father of Dennis Paepke, Jack Paepke never reached the majors as a player but was a big league coach with the Los Angeles Angels and California Angels from 1961 to 1966. He later scouted for the Angels and Montreal Expos.

Primarily a catcher, he also pitcher regularly in the minor leagues as a true two-way player.
