Jack Hardy, who was born and died in Cleveland, OH, made his major league debut with the 1903 Cleveland Naps. After spending 1904-07 in the minors, he came up again with the 1907 Cubs for one game. He spent 1908 with Nashville and 1909 with Mobile, coming up for 10 games with the 1909 Washington Senators. He was back with the Senators in 1910, but also played for Montreal in 1910 and 1911.
His highest batting average in the minors during the period 1903-11 was with Montreal in 1910 when he hit .330 in 31 games.
He managed at Fort Wayne in 1906.
He is not to be confused with a later Jack Hardy.
