Son of Herm Doscher, Jack Doscher pitched 27 games in the majors during 1903-06 and 1908.

Doscher was at Fordham University at the same time as a number of future major leaguers, most notably Ed Walsh. His pro baseball career started while he was in college.

He played for five different minor league teams in 1900. In 1906-08 while not in the majors he played for Harrisburg, going 19-15 in 1907.
