[edit] Biographical Information

Jack Scheible made his debut in 1893 with the Cleveland Spiders and spent his final season with the Philadelphia Phillies a year later.

Scheible's obituary in The Youngstown Telegram (August 9, 1897) indicates that he was employed at local flour mills before he began playing ball with minor league teams affiliated with the Tri-State League, Iron & Oil League, and New England League. He continued to play amateur and semi-professional ball after his retirement from the National League. He died in Youngstown, OH from pneumonia, which he contracted shortly after being commissioned to pitch for a game in Erie, PA.
