JUGS gun

A JUGS radar gun is a radar gun that is used by Scouts. There is also the Ra-gun, which is also used. The JUGS gun is the "fast" gun, which meaures the balls speed when it is released from the pitchers hand. Ra-guns show slower speeds, because this radar gun measures the speed of the ball when it is at the batter. Scouts will rarely sign a pitcher that doesn't throw at least 84-85 MPH on the JUGS gun. Usually pitchers who throw below 84 are knuckleballers.
